Josephine: 19 1/2 months

Josephine has been staying busy. She will be 20 months old on Christmas Day! By far her favorite thing to do lately is climb...up her step stool, on the couch, on the bed, on the chairs! And we've yet to catch her on video but she's trying to say more words! Her new words include Oscar (of Oscar the Grouch fame, but she's really only mastered the Osk part), Elmo (or more like bemo), baby, backpack, bear. And she'll actually try to say some other words when we ask.
She has really been enjoying having Daddy home. When he was gone last week the first words out of her mouth when she woke up in the mornings were "DA DA."
She has been enjoying her role as big sister and has taken to holding Lillian's hand when we pray before meals...it is so cute. She also likes to pray multiple times during the meal and throughout the day at which time she insists on holding Lillian's hand and then Josephine bows her head and says some gibberish. It is absolutely adorable!
She's been going through a pretty good phase as of late. She's mostly pleasant to be around, trying lots of new things, eating a lot, and sleeping a lot too, which I'm enjoying while it lasts. Apparently it's common for them to have a ravenous appetite at this age and can either have sleep disturbances or need more sleep....thankfully we're experiencing "more sleep!"
She really likes to "help" in the kitchen and we try to let her as much as possible. We are getting her a play kitchen for Christmas. Kind of bummed that we'll pretty much have to pack it up as soon as we get it but hopefully it will deliver years of entertainment.

Just woke up from a nap and that's a scab on her nose.

This video is of her playing with her ball popper but the real purpose was to capture her crazy person laugh that starts around 9 seconds.

She decided to hide in the cabinet. It's fun to see what they think up!

She really enjoys playing with her baby. She will give her pretend baths, change her diaper, push her in her stroller, burp her.

Josephine loves to climb on this step ladder. Not really sure why she's is going between dancing and crying but she's quite the actress at times so I think it was just part of the show.

Josephine vs Lillian

Just a few photos for comparison. They're approximately the same age in these photos. Also, just looked back to Josephine's 2 month checkup and here are the stats: she was 12 lbs 8 oz and 23 1/2 inches (90th percentile for both) and little Lillian was 11 lbs even and 22 inches long (25th percentile for both). WOW! What a difference!!

Lillian: 2 1/2 months

Lillian is about 2 1/2 months old now and time seems to be flying by! She had her checkup yesterday and her shots:( She was 11lbs even and 22 inches long. Just the 25th percentile! She seems perfectly normal to me! She was 25th for height, weight, and head so since she's proportional her pediatrician wasn't concerned. It's so funny to me that I start out with good size babies and then they just shrink;) She is so precious. She is cooing a lot lately and smiling those big toothless grins. I just can't get enough of her! She is eating and sleeping well, no complaints here! She sometimes goes as long as 6 hours between feedings! She just lets me know when she's hungry and I feed her and so far that seems to be working out well for us! She's co-sleeping with us and that is working out really well too. I haven't had any trouble nursing her while lying down so she just latches on and off to sleep we go. I actually feel like I'm getting plenty of sleep.

Milestone wise....she rolled over for the first time about a week ago. She was laying on our bed on her tummy and just rolled right over onto her back. She's got a lot of strength in her arms and neck as well. She can do little baby pushups while lying on her tummy and has great head control too. She nearly rolled from her back to her tummy the other night while we were playing on the floor. I'll have to keep my eye on this one! Already it seems she is growing up too fast!
