Josephine's New Playmate

As some of you already know I got a "job" keeping a baby girl for a couple from our church. I'm making a little extra money that we're putting away for a rainy day. I'm also learning a lot about what life with two children will be like! Although by the time we have another child hopefully Josephine will be able to walk! Our new playmate's name is Hartley and she's a really sweet baby! She's almost 5 months old.
Josephine took a bit of a tumble this week. We'll leave names out to protect the innocent:) but she fell and chipped one of her two front teeth and also cut her gum. She was a little restless that night but other than that her injury didn't slow her down one bit! I felt so bad for her! But I think it was lucky that the cut was inside her mouth because if it had been on her face I would have had to take her to the doctor. It's already pretty much healed and she's doing great.
Josephine also started sleeping through the night this past week! I can now expect her to sleep from 7:3o pm to 7 am.....most of the time:) She's thrown in a few curve balls to keep things interesting but I'm glad she's sleeping so well!

Baby You Can Drive My Car

We decided to get an early start on Josephine's driving education so she'll be the best little junior dragster she can be (well if Josh gets his way!). I let her take my new van for a spin with Dad's help. JUST KIDDING! We were not driving, the car was not on! So don't report us! I could just squeeze her! Her smile is just so infectious!

Go over those instructions one more time Dad!

Christmas outfit from Granny Pam

I apologize for being so behind on the blogging! It is certainly not for lack of material. Josephine was 8 months old on Christmas Day. We had a really nice visit with Granny Pam and Grandpa Bill over Christmas and then picked up Nana Hopkins in San Antonio on our way home. Josephine is so fortunate to be able to spend time with grandparents!

She is really getting around now. She still hasn't accomplished an all out crawl but now instead of rolling where she wants to go she scoots! She is also walking really well as long as Mommy or Daddy is holding her hands!

She is getting her front two teeth on the top in so she won't look like a vampire anymore! Josh will be so disappointed:) So far she has 3 teeth on the bottom and with the two front top teeth coming in she'll have 4 on top! I can't believe she has so many teeth! She is putting them to good use though. She is a great eater! She hasn't turned anything down. Today for lunch she had steamed broccoli (I just cut it into little pieces and she can feed herself), little bits of tomato, and banana with peanutbutter on it. For dinner we had spaghetti and she also had a piece of cheese, more banana, and some cheerios. For breakfast she usually has either oatmeal with fruit in it, scrambled eggs with dry cheerios and fruit, or fruit with yogurt and dry cheerios. She finally started drinking out of a sippy cup!! I just offer her water to drink in her sippy cup since she has so many teeth (don't want her constantly sipping juice). And she still nurses about 5 times a day. I honestly don't know how she stays so thin! She's about 18 lbs now and 28 1/2 inches!

She has expanded her "vocabulary" to da da, ma ma, and ba ba. Am I a proud mama or what? She is always laughing and smiling. Loves to play tug of war with Kramer. Loves to be tickled. Loves to dance in the mirror. And loves Dora the Explorer. Sometimes I will sing the Dora intro song and she'll turn around and look at the TV. I think it's pretty funny!
