9 Weeks Old!

Josephine is 9 weeks old today! I can't believe how quickly time is passing! I'll be taking her to her pediatrician this week for her 2 month check up and she will also be getting her shots:( She has to get 3 shots and an oral vaccine. I'm looking forward to seeing how much she weighs now. I know she's over twelve pounds. We've had to put her in size 2 diapers already and a lot of her 3 month size clothes are getting a little snug! She has a really sweet personality. Just in the past week she has really started enjoying her baths. She'll splash and kick with her legs and when her bath is over she cries! So we put her diaper on and then go back in the bathroom and let her look at her self in the mirror and practice standing on the counter. She likes to look at herself in the mirror and smile. She still doesn't show much interest in her toys. Much to my dismay she does seem to like watching television. She's definitely her father's daughter! I think she just likes the bright light and colors. Josephine's Grandpa Bill and Granny Pam are coming to visit next weekend for 4th of July. I can't wait for them to see how much she's changed!

First Bottle

While my grandmother was visiting she offered to watch Josephine so Joshua and I could go to dinner. I didn't want to leave Nana here empty handed in case Josephine got fussy so I bought a pump and pumped some milk for her. We decided to do a test run the night before to make sure Josephine would take a bottle since she'd never had one. Daddy got to do the honors!

WHAT A BIG GIRL!!!

I bought Josephine a Bumbo seat last week and she's really been enjoying it! She really likes to look around and kick her legs and wave her arms. I think she's given us a few genuine smiles and I'm really looking forward to more of her precious smiles!! Josephine will be 8 weeks old this Saturday! I think she's doing really well with her head and neck control.

We all had a great time with Grandma Ginny. Josephine especially enjoyed the constant snuggling! Nana had to go back home yesterday so now Josephine is stuck with Mom again:)

Family Visits!

Josephine and I have been very busy with family visits. Memorial Day weekend my sister, Elizabeth, came to visit for a few days. It was nice to be able to spend some girl time together. We really enjoyed having her here and just hanging out! Then my brother and his family came for a few days on their way to Oklahoma. Their son, David, is 9 months old and Josephine just stared at him when they met. It's the only other baby she has seen that close up. Joshua was out of town while they were here so it was nice to have some company. And....tomorrow my grandmother is coming to visit for 12 days. Josephine will be taking her first road trip this weekend to San Antonio for my cousin's graduation. It's about a 7 hour drive normally. It will be interesting! Joshua's parents are going to drive over from Houston while we are in San Antonio to see us. I'm really glad they'll get to spend a day with Josephine. She's getting bigger every day! She's been doing really well and most nights she sleeps for at least 5 hours in a row. Last night she slept for seven hours! I think she's about eleven pounds now. I took some video of her the other day but I haven't been able to upload it yet. I will try to get the video and some current pictures on soon!
