A Time Such As This...: Josephine turns 2!

Josephine turned 2 a little over a week ago! We had a small birthday bash to celebrate the big day. Among the honored guests were Nana (my grandmother), Granny and Pa Pa, and of course Mommy, Daddy, and "the baby" (what Josephine calls Lillian).
We decided to open presents a few days before her actual birthday so Granny and Pa Pa could help her play with her new toys. The next day we celebrated Easter with more goodies, egg hunts, and delicious food. Finally, on her actual birthday we had cake and Josephine blew out her candles!
She was really sad when our company had to leave. She cried and cried when Granny and Pa Pa left! I think that made Granny's day...though I think she shed a tear or two as well:)
She still likes to go into the rooms where Nana and Granny and Pa Pa stayed and tell me who stayed where. It was a really fun weekend!
Josephine had her 2 year checkup and she has really grown like a weed! She is 30 lbs and 34 inches long now (90th and 75th percentiles). She seemed to skip right over 2T and is wearing size 3T now. She is becoming easier to understand everyday and has caught up where she seemed to be lacking in verbal skills. She is putting words together to make 2 or 3 word sentences, singing parts of songs, and picking up new words all the time.
She really enjoys looking out our windows to spot birds. Her interest in all things Barney has dropped off a bit. I think the warmer-ish weather helps as she is less interested in watching TV and more interested in playing. Thank goodness!
