Lillian's 7 month update

Amidst the excitement of Easter and Josephine's second birthday, Lillian turned 7 months old.

She has transformed almost overnight from a roly poly to a sitting, low crawling machine! It's amazing what a difference I see now that she can sit unassisted. She really enjoys sitting with a pile of toys in front of her and just playing. She also really enjoys any and all attention from Josephine. It seems one of the biggest benefits of being the "little sister" is having "big sister" for entertainment! And you all know Josephine loves to entertain!

Lillian was 16 pounds 2 ounces and 16 inches long so she's back to about the 50th percentile for both. She is adjusting to solid food very quickly. I threw the old "one new food every 3 days" right out the window and there have been days where she's had 3 new foods! She really loves to use her teeth (she only has 2!) to gnaw on bananas, cantaloupe, and watermelon. At dinner the other night she even gnawed on some broccoli! It's fun that she's willing to try so many things.

She likes to talk and lately it seems like she's really trying to communicate something versus just babbling. It seems like she's really starting to put the pieces of her world together. It's so neat to watch!

Today we officially began our journey into "sleep training." I'll use the term loosely as our goal right now is only to avoid nursing to sleep for naps. We had good results today and as soon as we can get Josephine set up in her big girl bed I'll be using the crib for Lillian!
